How to add your logo or watermark to a video
Last updated 17 July 2026
A watermark is a small logo or handle laid over your video so every clip carries your brand. With YouClip you turn the watermark on, upload a logo PNG or type your @handle, drag it into place and set the size and opacity, then export a 1080x1920 clip with the mark burned in — ready for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
Step by step
Add your clip
Open YouClip on your Mac or PC and drop in the video you want to brand. It works the same on a captioned clip or a plain export.
Turn the watermark on
Open the watermark panel and switch 'Show watermark' on. Your mark appears in the preview straight away so you can see exactly where it lands.
Choose a logo or a handle
Upload a PNG of your logo — a transparent background works best — or skip the image and type your @handle as text instead. Either becomes the watermark.
Size, place and fade it
Drag the watermark anywhere in the frame, set its size, and lower the opacity so it reads as a mark rather than a distraction. A corner clear of the platform's buttons is the usual spot.
Render and export
YouClip burns the watermark into the video and exports at 1080x1920. The mark is baked into the file, so it travels with the clip wherever it's reposted.
Logo or handle — which to use?
- A logo PNG suits an established brand with a recognisable mark. Use a transparent background so it sits cleanly over any footage.
- A text handle like
@yourchannelis the fastest way to build name recognition when you don't have a designed logo yet.
Placing a watermark that brands without distracting
- Drop it in a corner, clear of the platform's own buttons on the right edge and the caption area near the bottom.
- Keep the opacity low — visible enough to read, faint enough to ignore while watching.
- Pick one size and position and reuse it, so every clip is unmistakably yours.
Brand a whole batch at once
If you post in volume, set the watermark once in bulk mode and it's burned into every clip in the folder you render, alongside your caption style — so a week of clips ships with the same mark without touching each one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG of your logo and YouClip places it as the watermark. A transparent background sits cleanly over footage, but any PNG works.
What if I don't have a logo file?
You don't need one. Type your @handle as a text watermark instead, and YouClip renders that as your mark — handy for building name recognition without a designed logo.
Does the watermark go on every clip?
It's applied to whatever you render, and in bulk mode the same watermark is burned into every clip in the batch, so a whole set of exports stays consistently branded.
Will a watermark lower my video quality?
No. The mark is composited on top and the clip still exports at full 1080x1920. Keep the opacity below full so it brands the clip without covering the footage.
Why watermark short-form clips at all?
A watermark builds recognition as your clips get shared and makes reposts traceable back to you. On fast-scrolling feeds, a small, consistent mark is how viewers start to recognise your channel.
